At Seceon’s Innovation and Certification Days 2024, Gitesh Shah, CEO of Samay Info Solutions, shared an inspiring journey of how his company transformed from a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to a Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) by leveraging Seceon’s powerful AI-driven platform. The session, part of a broader lineup of presentations, aimed to showcase how Seceon is enabling its partners to grow their businesses while delivering unmatched cybersecurity services.

Gitesh opened the discussion by reflecting on how Samay Info Solutions started as a typical MSP, offering IT support, network management, and cloud services. But as cyber threats increased and customers began demanding more robust security, Gitesh knew the company had to pivot. The answer came in the form of Seceon’s AI-powered platform.
“We started really from scratch,” Gitesh said. “Thanks to Seceon’s security, we were able to build something from nothing and grow to levels we hadn’t thought possible.” He emphasized that the move into the MSSP space was not just about offering security—it was about building an efficient and scalable system that could manage the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
One of the key aspects of Samay’s growth was the ability to offer SOC (Security Operations Center) services, branded as “Samay AI SOC,” powered by Seceon. Gitesh noted that the platform’s advanced AI and machine learning capabilities allowed them to proactively detect and respond to threats in real-time, something that was crucial as they scaled their business.
“We wanted to dive into the MSSP market,” Gitesh explained. “Seceon’s platform introduced us to a completely different world where AI and machine learning were helping us proactively detect, respond, and remediate threats.”
For MSPs looking to evolve into MSSPs, one of the biggest challenges is scaling operations while maintaining efficiency. This was a key theme in Gitesh’s discussion, as he highlighted how Seceon’s platform allowed his team to manage more clients without the need for large-scale hiring.
“With Seceon’s platform, for every 10 customers, we only need one person in each seat,” Gitesh pointed out, illustrating the efficiency gains that Seceon’s AI-powered automation provides. This level of automation allowed Samay Info Solutions to handle the growing complexity of security management while keeping staffing costs under control—an essential factor for any MSP or MSSP scaling up their operations.
Beyond efficiency, Gitesh discussed how Seceon’s platform allowed his team to offer additional services that met the specific needs of their clients. One of the most significant was the ability to provide comprehensive cybersecurity assessments, securing critical assets like domains, subdomains, and web services.
“When we were providing SOC services to our customers, they were also looking for things like cyber risk assessments or ways to secure their digital environments,” Gitesh shared. “Seceon’s platform gave us the ability to deliver those solutions.”
One of the most valuable aspects of Seceon’s platform, according to Gitesh, is its ability to facilitate upselling by offering advanced cybersecurity solutions that clients may not initially consider. For example, Samay Info Solutions began offering services like AI-driven XDR (Extended Detection and Response), which helped them secure more comprehensive contracts with clients.
Gitesh explained how, when customers initially approached them for basic SOC services, they were soon looking for more. “We upsold services like cyber risk assessments and AI XDR, which allowed us to meet more of our customers’ security needs and secure bigger contracts,” Gitesh said.
This flexibility in service offerings is key for MSPs looking to evolve into MSSPs, especially in industries with complex security requirements, like Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI). Seceon’s platform provided the tools to address these challenges head-on, enabling Samay Info Solutions to offer more value and open new revenue streams.
Another takeaway from the discussion was the importance of educating clients about cybersecurity risks. Gitesh noted that many of their clients were unaware of the evolving threat landscape and the critical need for proactive security solutions. By educating clients on the risks they faced, Samay Info Solutions was able to build trust and encourage clients to invest in more advanced cybersecurity solutions.
“We asked a lot of questions—some that made sense, some that didn’t—but Seceon was patient and helped us along the way,” Gitesh shared. “And then, when we introduced Seceon’s AI-driven XDR to our customers, it became the cherry on top.”
He provided a powerful example where Seceon’s platform helped detect suspicious traffic coming from Russia for one of their clients. Initially, the client didn’t believe they had an issue. However, after a deeper analysis, Gitesh’s team discovered a breach involving a malicious actor communicating with a command-and-control server (C2).
“We detected blacklisted traffic that was communicating with the C2 server, downloading and uploading data,” Gitesh explained. “That customer not only stayed with us but referred us to others, which led to even more business.”
This example highlights a key lesson for MSPs: taking the time to educate clients about potential threats and showing them how your platform can help mitigate those risks is critical to building long-term relationships and growing the business.
As the discussion wrapped up, Gitesh shared three important pieces of advice for MSPs looking to make the transition to MSSPs:
Throughout the presentation, Gitesh’s praise for Seceon was clear. Seceon’s AI-powered platform didn’t just provide security solutions—it allowed Samay Info Solutions to grow and scale while maintaining high levels of service and efficiency. For MSPs looking to make the leap into the MSSP space, Seceon offers the tools and support needed to succeed in an increasingly complex cybersecurity landscape.
